Title: Steaks and Saw-whets
Location: BBO
Description: Join the Beaverhill Bird Observatory volunteer, staff and executive for an evening BBQ and netting of Northern Saw-whet Owls. Steaks, chicken, hot dogs, veggie burgers, corn, potatoes and all the fixings are served. Home-made desserts, followed by setting up mist nets for the Owls.
Book early as this is a popular event!
Time: Dinner is served between 6:00 and 8:00 pm. Nets go up at 8:00.
Cost: $25 for adults, free for children under 12.

Eagle Migration

Description: A hike down to the
Athabasca River and back up the hill (very steep) will build up your appetite for a picnic dinner.

Meet: 7:30 am at McDonald\’s at Westmount Mall, 112 Ave and Groat Road. Barred and Pygmy Owls may be seen in this area.

Autumn Colours

Title: Autumn Colours
Location: Misty Ridge
Description: This is a great area to witness the beauty of coloured leaves and also look for the tracks of Black Bear, Wolf, and Herons. On the River, Loons or Mergansers may be seen. Barred Owls, Eagles, Woodpeckers and Kinglets are a possibility in the woods. We will likely stop in Westlock for dinner on the way home.

Meet at McDonald\’s at Westmount Mall, 112 Ave and Groat Road at 7:30 am. (south side of building).
Difficulty: Hike will be approximately 6-8 km, return on easy trails, although there are very steep sections along the ski hills. Good walking shoes are recommended.
Duration: Return to edmonton about 8:30 pm.
