Breaking News!

CN Locomotive Engineer Guy Wapple (Saskatoon) sighted a male Harlequin Duck
Dec.3 on the N.Sask. R. at the Beveraly bridge.  It was sitting on the rocks on the east side of the river.  Since that time Gerald Romanchuk was able to see it and said the bird was under the water more than above so may be difficult to see.  His recommendation was to try viewing from the footbridge between Rundle Park & the Sunridge Ski area.
Marc Demers & Art Hughes located a male & female Snowy Owl Dec.5 in the Holden area.  This is the first confirmed sighting of Snowy Owl in the Edmonton birding area. The only other record was in SE Alberta mid-Nov.  One can look for them along the Range Roads NW of St. Albert or in the Beaverhill L.- Ryley corridor & you just might get lucky!
