The Gyrfalcon is still around and appears as if it may be hunting at the Terminal more frequently.  It was seen today, Jan.9 at 1:40 pm making repeated attacks on the pigeons and several flights around the building hoping to catch the pigeons off guard.  At one point it sat perched half way up on the west side but flew again before I was able to get a scope & tripod set up.  Visibility was excellent in the afternoon with bright sunny skies & light winds.

On another note: a Dipper has been sighted on the North Sask. R. near the LRT bridge on Jan. 7.  It was seen making several dives off the ice along the south shore  into the open water.

Are Gyrfalcons normally seen around Edmotnon this time of year?
