On Sunday Oct. 09, 2011 Steve Knight was doing some birding at Alberta Beach located at Lac St. Anne.  Amongst the shorebirds Steve sighted a Plover which appeared  to have diffierent markings than the other.  Thinking it may be a Pacific Golden Plover instead of the more common American Golden Plover that passes through Alberta a series of photos were taken.  After these were sent to other birders who had more experience with the differences the bird was confirmed as an imm. Pacific Golden Plover.

Also Don Delaney & Glenn Carter flushed 3 Short-eared Owls from the vegetation on the east side of Beaverhill L. at Mundare Beach while they were hiking out to the water.  A Golden Eagle also passed overhead.
