The ENC Field Trip this morning to Gold Bar found a Townsend's Solitaire & Varied Thrush in Gold Bar Park on the upper trails.  Yesterday, Dec.5, Don Delaney braved the wintery conditions of wind & snow to walk from the 50 St. footbridge to Rundle Park through along the river through Gold Bar Park.  Besides the Common Goldeneye, 4 Bufflehead & 2000 Mallards Don spotted a Great Blue Heron standing along the edge of the river.  The bird was hunched up trying to brave the elements.  With the current weather conditions this week it will be surely forced to stay with the open water with the only other option for it to fly to Wabamun if that is possible.   Don also sighted a Bald Eagle in the area which would be expected this time of year.
