Today, 3 of us intrepid birders set out for the Clyde area to do the annual May Count. The forecast was not great and true to form was getting progressively worse as the day went on. Temp. was at a high of +6C, with winds NE20km/h in the morning but dropped to +4C with steady rain & NE20km/h winds in afternoon. This changed to snow as we left Westlock after supper. Despite conditions we had 63 Species including 2 male Cinnamon Teal and on Bouchard L. a pair of adult Trumpter Swans. Several years ago they nested here and raised 3 young so I suspect it is the same pair again. Last year the water levels were too low, however with the recent snow & rain the water level is back up a little. Very diverse birding even with the weather.
