On March 17 and also March 21, I observed a lone male Mountain Bluebird west of the Kallal Wetland Project (Amisk Creek) near Beaverhill Lake. He was in the open woods on the north side of Township Road 505, just east of Range Road 184. On the way back to Tofield, at 17:30 on March 21, I observed a Northern Shrike. Other than that its pretty quiet birdwise in the area. Merlins have arrived back in Tofield. Also several times this winter, I have observed a Brown Creeper in the mature spruces in the northwest residential part of Tofield.
