Yesterday, Nov.24 I made a spur of the moment trip to Misty Ridge to check my suet feeders. With the forecast of west or northwest winds I took a gamble that there might be a late Bald Eagle in the area. Well did I get rewarded with the best birding day there since mid-Oct.2008! Around 11:30 AM an imm. Bald Eagle arrived from the east crossing over the building & a few minutes later an adult on the same course. This continued non stop for 2 hrs. finishing with a total of 18. Golden Eagles (3 adults) Bald Eagles ( 2 imm. & 13 adults).
The suet feeder offered 3 White-breasted Nuthatch, 2 Hairy & 2 Downy Woodpecker along with 3-4 Black-cap Chickadee. Very good birding for late November.
