Went for a run by the wetland behind my place early this morning and saw a duck with markings that seemed out of context.  To make sure I could confirm what I thought I saw, I ran back home, grabbed my camera and a 500mm lens and to my surprise it was a male Hareliquin.  The wetland is located north of Summerwood Drive just east of Clover Bar Road in north Sherwood Park.

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to grab a tripod and I had to crank my ISO up to 6400 because it was pretty dark, so the images aren't great, but they do the job!

Also, you will notice that the duck was taking off, but it flew from the north west corner of the wetland over to the north east corner of the wetland, so I hope it is still there.
