Sighting: Northern Bob White

Location: Sunnyside golf course (south of Parkland Beach on Gull Lake)

Not only is this bird easily approachable, it chases you!  I'm not a regular birder, but my sister is a wildlife biologist and I showed it to her.  'Identified with Birds of North America'. Easy to locate, since the call is so distinct (bob-bob-whiite), and he is pretty vocal.

My sister said it might be somewhat rare for the area, so I thought I'd report the sighting.  I have video of the bird, as well as the bird chasing me across the lawn, which I will youtube if requested.  Email or phone me at 403.660.6955 if this is a sighting of interest.
