 Northern Alberta Birding Hotline

Jan. 3, 2011 I  watched a Northern Shrike visit a few trees in our yard. This is my 3rd sighting since mid-December, 2010. We have many feeders, thus many small birds.  Is this what attracts the Shrike?  Also, as it flew away yesterday, a few other birds followed- I wasn't able to identify them.  Is it possible they travel in  groups, or is it more likely that other birds were chasing it away? Thank you!
