I posted the other day first sightings this fall on the southside of Redwater. This post was deleted, and also a past post was deleted. Wondering what's up? I have followed all the guidelines.

Mr. Fitzsimmons,

There is nothing wrong with the procedure you have been using to report your sightings.  I have read all the postings from all the birders who submit them & incorporate the information into doing the Hotline.  In the case of species such as Pine Grosbeaks, Redpolls, Canada Geese etc.   Once they become widespread across the region I do not report each individual sighting in the report.  Your sightings are read & acknowledged whenever I have the chance so keep them coming.

Thank you I appreciate your clarification regards to deleted posts. Actually the reason I posted the sighting of returning Redpolls was I had just received the newsletter via email and it mentioned to post (or possible said call the store) when sighting returning Redpolls.  A few days prior to newsletter I had a few visiting my feeders. Lol! I know it's not as exciting as the Lazuli Bunting 19 years ago at the same feeders, but it's nice to see the Redpolls again! Happy Birding everyone!sf wink Northern Alberta Birding Hotline
