Gerald Romanchuk saw a small flock of Snow Buntings south of Tofiedl on Oct. 16 as well as a Bittern near Bittern Lake.  It was flushed from the ditch by farm machinery being moved on the road.
Mike Blom reported an adult Glaucous Gull in Peace River on Oct. 17, while Simone Marler reported a Harris Sparrow in her Fort McMurray yard as well as Sanderling & Black-bellied Plovers still in the area,
Snow Geese & now Tundra Swans are being seen in good numbers at Beaverhill L. & also Bittern Lake.  Janet Watkinson & I saw several thousand Snow Geese in a field next to Hwy 2 at Vimy on Oct. 15. as we headed to Misty Ridge for the day.  Del Huget made brief visit to Cooking L. next to the Airport & saw several Rough-legged Hawk & a Golden Eagle.  A trip last Sat. to Misty Ridge under mostly light winds offered a very distant Gosahawk.  A mixed group of Dk.-eyed Junco & Tree Sparrows were moving through the tree tops along the entrance road into the property.  Several Rough-Legged Hawks including both light & dark morphs which were on the power poles along Sec. #661 as we headed east to a Jarvie Harvest Supper.  We were also treated to both dk. & light morph Red-tailed Hawks for comparison.  A covey of 10 Gray Partridge were flushed from the bottom of the Misty Ridge Ski Hill.  They have been seen along the road into the property over the years, mostly in the fall, but not on the hill itself!
