On July 2, John Acorn located a pair of Eastern Bluebird at a nest box in the Amisk Cr. area just south of Beaverhill L.  The location is Rge Rd. 183 & between Kallal Meadows & Amisk Cr. bridge in box B2.  This sigthing is significant for Alberta as Eastern Bluebirds do not usually occur here.  The nest box is on the route of the Wildbird General Store Hawk Survey & yet no one saw these birds until now.  Mountain Bluebirds were at this location all spring!  I personally went on Thurs. evening July 8 to look for them but did not see anything at that location, but keep checking!
The other sighting of interest in confirmed sighting, with photos taken, of a Northern Mockingbird at the Mildred Lake Reservoir on the Syncrude site north of Fort McMurray.  This could be the same bird that Ted Hindmarch photographed near English Bay on the nw corner of Cold Lake at the beginning of June.

On July 4, Coral Grove sighted a Great Egret east of Innisfree in the first pond on the northside.  Closer to home, Bonnie Young reports 3 pr. of Great Blue Heron nesting along Blackmud Cr. in the Blackburn area.  2 pr. have young in the nest.  Dan Heinrichs & Caroline from the Wildbird General Store made a brief visit to Lac La Biche on July 1.  Their highlights were Blackburnian, Bay-breasted & Chestnut-sided Warbler.  On July 4, Jack & Elanora Park located a Rusty Blackbird near the Humpty's Restraunt in Sh. Park.  On July 8, I sighted a pair of Mourning Doves along Sec.#834, approx. 6km south of Hwy 16.
