On Aug.21, Ron McElhaney observed 50 Black-crowned Night Herons at Bretona Pond on the se. edge of the city.  Gerald Romanchuck has had some varied shorebirds at Migquelon L. including 12 Hudsonian Godwits, Baird's Sandpipers & Yellowlegs.  An adult Sabine's Gull was photographed by Bill Bretsch at Kinsasoo Beach (Cold Lake) Aug.26.  Janos Kovacs reported he has had lots of warbler species as well as numbers going through the banding station at the Strathcona Science Park near the Clovar Bar bridge.  The highlight was catching a MacGillivray's Warbler.  A report by Mike Blom, from Peace River airport listed Peregrine Falcon & Sharp-shin Hawk heading south along with flocks of Barn Swallows & a Northern Harrrier.  Evening Grosbeaks are being seen all over Peace River.  Carol Gosche reported a Ruby-throated Hummingbird in her yard in St. Albert on Aug. 21.  I heard a flight of White-fronted Geese flying over Lu Carbyn's property south of Cross Lake on Aug. 23.  This is not unusual as White-fronted leave the Arctic much earlier than Canada Geese and are often seen in this region by mid-August.

Good Birding!
