At The Wildbird General Store, the health and well-being of our customers AND staff is greatly important to us. We understand that feeding the birds is a wonderfully beneficial pastime, for the birds and ourselves both, especially in this time of social-distancing.
We were forced to institute new procedures effective April 6 with it being down to just Steve & Kay (the owners) to take & fill your orders, with all staff in self-isolation to minimize risks. After 4 weeks of working 6 days a week, we will be closed SUNDAYS & MONDAYS for the foreseeable future. As we are a non-essential business, our store interior remains closed to the public. Please review our updated procedures below.
WE WILL BE CONTINUING w CURBSIDE PICK-UP THROUGH THE END OF MAY BEFORE RE-ASSESSING. A LARGE PORTION OF OUR CUSTOMER BASE, AS WELL AS OUR STAFF, ARE PART OF THE MOST VULNERABLE POPULATION & WE WANT TO DO OUR BEST TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE.
Orders can also be placed by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) with payment by eTransfer. We will respond by email with your order total as time allows. Once eTransfer is received, you order will be processed for next day pick-up.
We’re sorry, but we can no longer accept debit (or cash). No exceptions.
Please call when you arrive & let us know which table you have parked beside. We will bring your order out & leave it on the table with your receipt. Please remain in your vehicle while we are outside.
We are able to fill orders for all regularly stocked items!
Check out our locally hand-crafted bird houses, bird feeders, bird baths, games, puppet & puzzle listings, along with gifts for mom AND Tilley hats! We’re working on adding additional product catalogues, feel free to call with inquiries in the meantime.
Maximums are in place for seed & suet as below. For bulk bin items please consider 5 & 10lb amounts.
At the moment our seed & nut suppliers show no signs of running out, but we will have to keep an eye on that as things progress. Thank you for allowing all of our customers to partake in their chosen appropriate socially-distanced pastime.
Although not explicitly advertised, we have always had FREE delivery (with prepayment over the phone) to members of our community that have difficulty accessing our store. Please understand this may take some time to arrange.
We are unable to offer regular delivery (or shipping) at this time.
If you are feeling unwell, are experiencing fever, cough, have exposure to anyone infected OR have travelled internationally in the previous two weeks, we ask that you let your neighbours feed the birds.
All store events are cancelled until further notice.
We’re sad that this is where we find ourselves as we were supposed to be celebrating our 30th year of feeding the birds. We look forward to continuing to celebrate the great little shop that Jack and Ellen built when all this gets sorted out.
Thank you to all our wonderful friends committed to supporting a small, local & independent shop!
We hope we can facilitate everyone keeping our feathered friends fed well, but there may come a time when we must close temporarily. With action often needed swiftly, we will do our best to send out updates in a timely manner.
Kay & Steve
